Brainerd, MN was a trip I will NEVER forget. A weekend of many firsts for me and memories I will never forget. First my week started off with shipping my car to Brainerd without me!!! It was a different feeling for me! Weird, I know but something about just sending your car off and meeting it there was a first for me. Having my car shipped to the track in a hauler with others was a great experience and gave me a chance to have a couple more days of work!!!!!
August is almost half way over and it is time to kick things into gear! Brainerd Raceway is the next trip for us! Over Labor Day weekend we will be in Minnesota racing. This is a double race weekend for us with Spec Racer Ford, Trans Am, and Formula Enterprise. I am leaving next weekend for Topeka, Kansas to watch a huge karting race. Not too much to do to the race car before our trip but I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel! September is going to be a really crazy month and it will all wind down at Petite Le Mans at Road Atlanta.

Road America is full of numerous corners and lots of courage to successfully get your car around the track. Unfortunately for a fellow competitor he didn’t make it past the practice day before heavily damaging his race car. The carousel is a technical corner and is a very easy place to lose control. I went to Road America with a lot of laps under my belt and didn’t have to learn the track just how the car would act around it. While I am still adapting to everything I am feeling the car doing and being able to relay it to my father, I am really starting to feel like we are making some serious progress!!
I have always heard amazing things about Lime Rock Raceway. As the 3rd and 4th race of my 2011 season with the Playboy MX-5 Cup Series approaches I start to wonder what this Memorial Day will bring me?! Due to the size of the race and the track being closed for racing on Sunday, it has left me with minimal track time! This means a short learning curve for me to learn the track and get the set up correct quickly. With the threat of potential rain, which has already crossed my mind, I know that Connecticut in May his quite a few showers! I have minimal experince in the rain but look forward to the potential to gain rain racing experience at Lime Rock!
